Requirements and skills
You are a professional with experience in the construction industry and you have recognized training in occupational health and safety.
What you need to have :
- Experience in a health and safety role in the construction industry
- Occupational health and safety vocational training or a health and safety certificate
- Certification of the health and safety course on construction sites awarded by ASP construction
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Excellent knowledge of Quebec legislation and the safety code on construction sites
- Good knowledge of basic Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Fluency in French (spoken and written)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the administrative aspect of prevention within the company : Know and keep up to date your knowledge of health and safety regulatory requirements to act as a contact person. / Animate recurring meetings with all employees responsible for internal and external health and safety on site. / Develop and maintain prevention tools, work methods and health and safety procedures for construction sites and the office. Ensure that competency cards and the various documents required for the execution of the site are obtained and validated, in collaboration with the Superintendent.
- Work collaboratively with site and office teams : Communicate its recommendations in a clear and precise manner, according to the regulations in force and the company's procedures. / Ensure that subcontractors and Syscomax employees on construction sites are aware of the risks associated with their work. / Accompany, assist and support subcontractors, Syscomax employees and health and safety coordinators so that they comply with the company's prevention program and procedures. / Work in collaboration with human resources regarding accidents on construction sites and in the office. / Accompany the CNESST inspector during inspection visits.
- Act as a vector of health and safety culture within the company : Conduct regular site visits. / Identify prevention needs and risks. / Investigate events that caused or could have caused an accident. / Follow up on disciplinary opinions concerning health and safety and ensure that corrective measures are adapted to the realities of the site. / Identify and monitor the training required to correct, prevent or maintain the health and safety of construction sites and the office.
