Requirements and skills
We are looking for an Accounting Technician with 5 years of similar experience in construction accounting:
- AEC in accounting, administration, or any other relevant training
- Proficient in the Office suite (intermediate Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of Maestro software (an asset)
- Knowledge of Laserfiche and Flexicapture (an asset)
- Spoken English (an asset)
Responsibilities:
- Payroll and employee benefits :
- Carry out the complete payroll processing
- Monitor vacation banks
- Calculate employee commissions, bonuses, and premiums
- Manage contributions to the group RRSP
- Administer allowances (car and cell phone)
- Produce tax statements (T4, Relevé 1) and summary 1
- Compliance and government obligations :
- Produce and follow up on declarations (DAS, GST/QST, CNESST)
- Manage installment payments
- Monitor obligations related to training (1% law)
- General accounting :
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Prepare month-end adjusting entries
- Participate in monthly closing activities
- Ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Accounts payable and disbursement management :
- Process accounts payable administration
- Make payments to administration suppliers, project suppliers with discounts, and payable within 30 days
- Manage expense accounts
- Make payment of recurring invoices
- Ensure follow-up of invoice approvals in the Laserfiche system
- Manage the accounts payable email inbox
- Billing and intercompany :
- Perform billing for the services department
- Generate intercompany billing
