We are looking for a passionate Health and Safety Manager. He or she must possess the following skills among others : priority management, outstanding communication, listening and empathy, positive influence and collaboration with employees and great autonomy and resourcefulness
Requirements and skills
You are a professional with experience in a similar role in health and safety in the construction field :
- Coordinator Certificate in health and safety (CoSS) on construction sites issued by the CNESST (mandatory)
- Excellent knowledge of Quebec legislation and the safety code on construction sites
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in French (oral and written)
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the administrative management of prevention activities
- Be knowledgeable and keep up to date with occupational health and safety regulations
- Refine and maintain the company's prevention program
- Develop and update health and safety work methods and procedures
- Lead recurring meetings with all Health and Safety Committees
- Ensure to obtain and validate the competency cards and various documents required for site execution, in collaboration with the superintendent and HR
- Identify and ensure the follow-up of necessary training to correct, prevent, or maintain health safety
- Investigate events that have caused or could have caused an accident
- Follow up on disciplinary notices concerning health safety and ensure that corrective measures are adapted to the realities of the job site.
- Develop and support site and office teams
- Support subcontractors, Syscomax employees, and CoSS to ensure they comply with the prevention program and company procedures
- Ensure that subcontractors and Syscomax employees are aware of the risks associated with their work
- Identify prevention needs and risks
- Communicate recommendations clearly and precisely, in accordance with current regulations and company procedures
- Conduct regular site visits
- Collaborate with HR and our prevention mutual concerning accidents
