Requirements and skills
REASON FOR DISPLAY : Promotion of the current Financial Director to a position for our parent company.
Our Chief Financial Officer must enjoy operating at both the strategic and operational levels of his finance and accounting department with 8 employees, so he must possess:
- Recognized accounting title of CPA (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or any other equivalent training
- Over 10 years of experience in a similar position in the construction field
- Advanced mastery of Excel
- Professional level of French and English
- Mastery of Maestro, Acumatica, Laserfiche and Flexicapture (asset)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the financial and accounting strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, and mobilizing talent
- Ensure that the company's financial systems are compliant and support current activities and future growth
- Improve current financial tools, suggest, and implement new tools
- Develop detailed financial reports and income statements
- Enhance and maintain financial policies, procedures, and systems
- Coordinate financial planning (budgeting, analysis, forecasting, etc.)
- Interpret financial data
- Evaluate accounting practices
- Coordinate audit functions, governance policies, and internal controls
- Keep internal control documentation up to date
- Collaborate with the management team to develop the company's strategic planning
- Ensure cash flow management to support strategic decisions
- Inform senior management about the company's financial performance
- Monitor business risks, financial commitments, and exposure by implementing risk management strategies
- Stay up to date with financial regulations affecting the company
- Maintain relationships with the bank and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable provincial and federal regulations
