Requirements and skills

REASON FOR DISPLAY : Promotion of the current Financial Director to a position for our parent company.

Our Chief Financial Officer must enjoy operating at both the strategic and operational levels of his finance and accounting department with 8 employees, so he must possess:

  • Recognized accounting title of CPA (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or any other equivalent training
  • Over 10 years of experience in a similar position in the construction field
  • Advanced mastery of Excel
  • Professional level of French and English
  • Mastery of Maestro, Acumatica, Laserfiche and Flexicapture (asset)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the financial and accounting strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, and mobilizing talent
  • Ensure that the company's financial systems are compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Improve current financial tools, suggest, and implement new tools
  • Develop detailed financial reports and income statements
  • Enhance and maintain financial policies, procedures, and systems
  • Coordinate financial planning (budgeting, analysis, forecasting, etc.)
  • Interpret financial data
  • Evaluate accounting practices
  • Coordinate audit functions, governance policies, and internal controls
  • Keep internal control documentation up to date
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop the company's strategic planning
  • Ensure cash flow management to support strategic decisions
  • Inform senior management about the company's financial performance
  • Monitor business risks, financial commitments, and exposure by implementing risk management strategies
  • Stay up to date with financial regulations affecting the company
  • Maintain relationships with the bank and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable provincial and federal regulations
